Nintendo Switch 2 Incoming…?
Last week, Nintendo launched a preview for their new console the Switch 2, proving once and for all that Nintendo doesn’t know how to count.
1996: Nintendo 64 launched (starting 3D consoles at 64 — already a wild choice)
2001: GameCube launched (64^3 = 262,144, we’re already way off.)
2006: Wii launched (“i” is an imaginary number! What are we doing?)
2012: Wii U launched (I refuse to joke about this one; I don’t punch down)
2017: Nintendo Switch launched
2025: Nintendo Switch 2 launched
But it’s been a long time! The longest stretch between new home consoles for a beloved game company. And they’ve got some fun-looking games coming out.
I WANT TO BELIEVE
The biggest sticking point for a lot of fans seems to be the new console’s price: $449.99, with games costing up to $79.99.
Which is a lot! Of course, adjusted for inflation, the Nintendo 64 cost about $400 when it came out, so it’s not astronomical, but still, pretty pricey. But pre-orders open this Wednesday, April 9th, so we’re about too see how price and demand will intersect—

NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHING !
Oh, right… We’re stuck in the stupidest timeline…
Pre-orders are closed until further notice due to a trade war. Good bye, escapism!
